Hunting Trips

Dear Frontier Pack Train:
Last weekends deer hunting expedition to Alger Basin was something that none of us is likely to forget. From the minute we arrived at the pack station we were treated with respect and made to feel at home amongst the crew, horses and mules. Our trip to the basin was an eye opener for us all. A new found respect and love for the people, wilderness and animals was formed by all. From the exceptional horses used to take us in to the scenery viewed by all and photographed a hundred times over we had a BLAST! For me to have this experience with my Dad John Ungersma and my friends and family is something that will remain in my heart forever. Not only was the hunting great (5 of 7 deer tags filled) but the food and facilities were the best I've ever experienced on a back country trip. I have over 200 photos from the four days we were in and they help me relive each step along the trail and each sunrise over the Sierra Nevada's. We want to personally Thank Dave for his care and knowledge, ( not to mention his stories) for us all. In the world of back country cowboys Dave is TOP NOTCH, an expert in horsemanship and caring for his customers. To our guide Tommy for his expertise in hunting practices and a willingness to not let any of us give up when climbing that damn mountain. And Jules for his 5 star cooking. Hard to imagine someone standing 6'5" and carrying his hulk could whip up such great food that kept us all motivated for our trip. Thank you to the Boys from LA who were a great bunch that made the trip that much better. Congratulations on your Deer! Thank you Frontier for giving us a thousand memories that none of us will soon forget. Here's to another 15 years Dave! Thank you all
